Insurance Reports Gold Coast
A computer insurance report or laptop insurance report from Karma Techs sets out the cause of damage, the extent of the damage and a repair vs. replacement recommendation, written to the standard accepted by major Australian insurers. You pay Karma Techs directly for the assessment, then submit the report yourself with your own insurance claim.
What's included in your insurance report
Whether it's an accidental damage insurance report for a dropped laptop, a liquid spill or a power surge claim, we document exactly what happened to the device and what it will take to put right. A computer damage report or laptop damage report from Karma Techs is written in plain English so both you and your insurer's claims assessor can follow it.
Every computer insurance claim report we prepare is based on a hands-on assessment of the actual device, not a guess from photos alone. We check the device in person, confirm what's actually wrong, and put that in writing.
Where repairing the device would cost more than it's worth, we'll note this in the report as Beyond Economical Repair (BER) — the term insurers use when repair costs exceed the device's value. A BER assessment is typically what insurers rely on to approve a replacement instead of paying for a repair.

Real hands-on assessment
Every report is based on a physical inspection of the device, not just a description over the phone.
Why customers choose us

Pricing approach
Why there's no flat-fee price list
Every device and situation is different, so we assess and quote based on your specific case rather than a generic flat fee. A cracked laptop screen, a liquid-damaged desktop and a Mac with power surge damage each need different diagnostic work — a fair quote should reflect what your device actually needs, not a one-size-fits-all number.

Insurance Report FAQs
Do you send the report and invoice directly to my insurer?
No. You pay Karma Techs directly for the assessment, and we provide you with the written report. You then submit that report yourself as part of your own insurance claim.
How much does a computer insurance report cost?
There is no fixed price. The cost depends on the device and the complexity of the damage, so we assess it case-by-case. Contact us for a quote before booking an assessment.
Which insurers accept your reports?
Our reports are prepared to the standard accepted by major Australian insurers, including NRMA Insurance, Allianz, Suncorp, QBE, RACV, RACQ, AAMI, Budget Direct, GIO, CGU, IAG, Youi and Real Insurance. We recommend checking your policy for any specific documentation requirements.
What devices can you write an insurance report for?
We can assess and report on desktop PCs, laptops, Apple Mac computers and tablets.
Can you provide a report for a stolen device?
No. As a repair technician we can only assess and report on physical damage to a device that is in front of us. We are not able to verify or report on theft.
How long does the assessment take?
Most devices can be assessed the same day or within a few days of drop-off, depending on how complex the damage is. Call ahead and we can give you a more specific timeframe.
