- Traced and mapped existing cable runs to identify active vs redundant connections
- Checked patch panel and switch port assignments against current use

- Removed and re-terminated cable runs that were no longer in a usable state
- Re-routed all active cabling through dedicated cable management combs at each rack unit
- Bundled and dressed cable runs vertically for a clean, traceable path from patch panel to switch
- Cleared loose cable bulk away from switch intake vents to improve airflow
Outcome
The cabinet went from a tangled, hard-to-trace mess to a fully organised rack where every run is easy to follow at a glance. Future fault-finding and changes can now be done quickly and safely, without the risk of disturbing unrelated connections.
